About the Lewis and Clark Search and Rescue Association

The Lewis and Clark Search and Rescue Association (LCSAR) is a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization committed since its founding in 1960 to saving human life, preventing injuries to persons, and aiding in the preservation of public and private property by means of search, rescue, and public education.

LCSAR reports to the Sheriff of Lewis and Clark County and supports the operations of the L&C Sheriffs Office. Typical missions include locating and retrieving missing persons, rapid response rescues on land and water, evidence searches, evacuation management, medical support for local community events like the Mt. Helena Run and the Passion Plunge, and communication support for multi-agency responses (primarily wildfires and manhunts).
